WHAT DOES
KALEO MEAN?

kaleō・καλέω・カレオ

TO CALL BY NAME - TO INVITE

The Greek word "kaleo" is used various times in the New Testament of the Bible. It is translated as  "to call" or
"to call out," and it means
"to summon" to a certain work. As followers of Jesus, we are called to love God and to love people.

“I urge you to walk in a manner worthy of the calling to which you have been called, with all humility and gentleness, with patience, bearing with one another in love, eager to maintain the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.” -Ephesians 4:1-3

WHAT IS THE GOSPEL?

“Gospel” literally means “good news.” It’s news of something incredible that has happened. What is this news? It's the good news that we have been rescued from our sins by Jesus Christ. We believe God desires for all followers of Jesus to take this Gospel of Jesus Christ to those around us.

“All of us, like sheep, have strayed away. We have left God’s path to follow our own.” -Isaiah 53:6

&

"For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life." -John 3:16

WHAT IS CHURCH?

We believe a biblical church is a group of believers of Christ who have decided to unite together as a local church community. We believe a healthy church community is one who regularly gathers together for fellowship, worship, the study and teaching of Scripture, and prayer under the leadership of appointed and qualified leaders. A biblical church also partakes in baptism and communion while ministering to needs of others and proclaiming the Gospel to those who don't yet know Jesus Christ.

"They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer. . . They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved." Acts 2:42, 46-47
